Remove fountain tops in winter to prevent cracking and raise bases off the ground to avoid freezing. Store the fountain indoors if possible. If leaving it outside, remove pumps and small components, cover the top with burlap, and wrap it with dark plastic. Check regularly to ensure the cover is secure and no water accumulates. Before the first freeze, drain, dry, and cover the fountain.
